The Wedding Present’s evolution:
The Wedding Present was founded in England in 1985 and was originally an indie pop band. The Wedding Present is still an active band, however over the years many members have joined and retired from the band. However, surprisingly one of the original members of The Wedding Present, David Gedge is still the lead of The Wedding Present. Gedge was a member of The Wedding Present from 1985-1977 before taking a hiatus until 2004 when he rejoined the band.

Originally Husker Du performed hardcore punk music, however as the band evolved they slowly become a punk rock band. One of the band’s most successful tracks was Perfect Example, which was released in 1985 when the band had built a reputation for itself. Perfect Example is a melancholy track that talks about the haunting memory of past events and how the past doesn’t always stay in the past and often becomes part of the future.
